Le dimos una segunda oportunidad a la capital y, de Vang Vieng, volvimos a Vientiane. Pasamos la noche y el día siguiente salimos tempranito en dirección a la esperada cueva de Kong Lor. Allí estaba, a tan sólo 7 horas en un autocar local con una decoración de lo más festiva.
No es uno de los parajes más visitados, nos dimos cuenta por los pocos turistas que viajaban allí. Ese día, llegamos únicamente 7 personas al poblado de Kong Lor que está justo a un kilómetro de las cuevas.
Llegamos al atardecer y flipamos! Kong Lor es uno de los pueblos más “vírgenes” que habíamos visitado hasta el momento. Son 4 cabañas (por decirlo de alguna manera) y la mayoría de locales se dedican a cultivar el campo. Vimos a señoras “en tetas”, cosa que resulta extraño en Laos ya que son la ostia de conservadores.
La gente era súper amable y hospitalaria, te reciben con una sonrisa. Para hospedarte puedes elegir entre una guesthouse por 50.000 kips la habitación (menos de 5€, y de las mejorcitas que hemos estado) o bien, por el mismo precio, tienes la opción de quedarte en un homestay (casa de una familia local) que por el mismo precio duermes y comes con ellos.
Cabañas de bambú y madera, caminos de tierra, campos de cereales, montañas enormes y un río que cruza el pueblo dónde puedes pegarte un bañito con los niños del poblado y con algún que otro buey. Es un lugar remoto en el centro de Laos, muchas veces sin electricidad y, si eres afortunado, encuentras internet. Fue el sitio perfecto dónde pasar la noche, para el día siguiente, hacer la visita a la cueva.
La cueva es la ostiaaaaaaaa!!!! Una de las cosas que más nos impresionó de Laos! Se encuentra en el Parque Nacional de Phu Hin Bu, y tiene una longitud de 7.5km de largo y 100 metros de altura.
Frontal en la cabeza y chaleco salvavidas en plan exploradoras, hicimos un recorrido de dos horas en barquita por el río que cruza la cueva. Es la única forma de acceder, ya que apenas puedes pisar tierra en el interior. La verdad que estar allí dentro es como estar en una especie de inframundo! con la caloraca que hace en Laos, tuvimos que ponernos una rebequita. Es una pena no haber podido sacar fotos del interior por la falta de luz, aunque probablemente esas fotos no le hicieran justicia… increíble naturaleza virgen la de este país! Es como si dentro de la montaña hubiera otro mundo.
